Franziska Werner ist seit 2011 künstlerische Leiterin der Sophiensaele Berlin.
Sie studierte Theaterwissenschaft/Kulturelle Kommunikation, Kunstgeschichte und Europäische Ethnologie an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin (M.A.) und Etudes Théâtrales an der Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris.
Seit 2001 arbeitete sie als freie Produktionsleiterin und Dramaturgin mit verschiedenen Künstler_innen in Berlin und für Festivals und Produktionsorte deutschlandweit, seit 2008 bereits verstärkt an den Sophiensaelen Berlin.

Sie war Mitbegründerin des Künstlerkollektivs Pony Pedro, welches zwischen 2005 und 2010 Interventionen im Stadtraum an der Schnittstelle zwischen Performance, Grafik/Siebdruck und Installation im Feld urbaner Kommunikationsstrategien realisierte.
Diverse Jurytätigkeiten mit Schwerpunkt auf Nachwuchsförderung.
Mitautorin der Gründungspetition der „Koalition der Freien Szene Berlin“ im Frühjahr 2012. Mitglied im Laft Berlin e.V. und Pro Quote Bühne.
2013-2015 Mentorinnen-Tätigkeit für das Performing Arts Services-Programm des Laft Berlin e.V..

Seit 2012 bis heute Mitglied im Rat für die Künste Berlin, Arbeitsschwerpunkte Förderpolitik/ Stärkung der Belange der freien darstellenden Künste aller Sparten.

Franziska Werner is artistic director of Sophiensæle Berlin/Germany, a free production house for theatre, dance and performance.
She studied theatre studies/cultural communication, art history and cultural anthropology at Humboldt University in Berlin and Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris. Since 2008 she worked as production dramaturge at Sophiensæle Berlin; since 2001 she has been working as freelance dramaturge and project manager with several artists, for festivals and production houses in Germany.
She was co-founder of the artist collective Pony Pedro, with whom she worked between 2005- 2010 in the field of urban communication strategies and realized interventions in public space interfacing installation, performance and graphics/silk printing skills.
