Kay Wuschek studierte an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin Theaterwissenschaften und Kulturelle Kommunikation. Seit August 2005 ist er Intendant am THEATER AN DER PARKAUE – Junges Staatstheater Berlin. Zudem arbeitete er an verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Theatern als Regisseur, Dramaturg und Autor, u.a. in Magdeburg, Aachen, Schwerin, Halle, Rostock, Berlin sowie in Paris, Plowdiw, Komsomolsk am Amur, Almaty, Surgut, Rostow am Don und St. Petersburg.

Kay Wuschek war Jury-Mitglied für den Deutschen Kinder- und Jugendtheaterpreis 2002, gehörte zur künstlerischen Leitung des Festivals HundsTage und zur künstlerischen Leitung der 13. WerkstattTage des Kinder- und Jugendtheaters 2002 in Halle/Saale.

Er war Mitorganisator und Mitglied der künstlerischen Leitung der flämisch-niederländisch-deutschen TheaterAutorenTage in Aachen 2004 und 2005. Im Jahr 2006 wurde er als Mitglied in den Rat für die Künste für Berlin gewählt. Seit 2009 ist er Mitglied im Ausschuss für künstlerische Fragen im Deutschen Bühnenverein und Vizepräsident des Internationalen Theaterinstituts (ITI). Er ist Berichterstatter in der Sparte Kinder- und Jugendtheater für den Theaterpreis „Faust“.

Mitglied im Rat 2009 – 2020

Kay Wuschek studied theatre and cultural communication at the Humboldt University Berlin. As a dramatist he has worked at the bat Berlin, the Mecklenburg State Theatre Schwerin, the Freien Kammerspielen Magdeburg, the Faust-Ensemble GmbH Hannover (Peter Stein), the Plovdiv Drama Theater / Bulgaria, the Thalia Theater Halle, and most recently, the Theater Aachen.
In addition to his work as a dramatist, Kay Wuschek has staged his own productions, amongst others, at the Hoftheater Prenzlauer Berg / Berlin, with the theatre 2. fall, the Group O / Paris, in Magdeburg, Halle, Tübingen, Aachen, and at the KnAM in Komsomolsk-on-Amur / Russia. His productions have been invited to the Norddeutschen Theatertreffen, the Glasgow International Theatre Festival, the Udmurt Autonomous Republic, the Festival Erlangen, the International Theatre Festival St. Louis / France, the Workshop Days of the Children and Youth Theatre in Halle / Saale, to the Kleist Days in Frankfurt / Oder and the 1st German Children’s and Young People’s Theatre Festival in Berlin. In August 2005 he was appointed Director of the THEATER AN DER PARKAUE, Berlin State Theatre for Young Audiences.
Kay Wuschek was a member of the jury for the German Children’s and Young People’s Theatre Prize 2002, was a member of the team of artistic directors for the HundsTage Festival and the 13th Workshop Days of the Children and Youth Theatre in Halle / Saale in 2002. In 2004 and 2005 he was the co-organiser and member of the team of artistic directors for the Flemish-Dutch-German Theatre Author Days in Aachen. In 2006 he was elected a member of the Council for the Arts Berlin. In 2009 he was appointed a member of the Committee for Artistic Questions of the Deutscher Bühnenverein (German Theatre and Orchestra Association). In the same year he was appointed to the post of one of two Vice Presidents of the German Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI).
