Geboren 1970 in Lüdenscheid, lebt zur Zeit in Berlin, arbeitet als freischaffender Kurator und organisiert seit 2002 CTM – Festival for adventurous music and related visual arts (früher club transmediale festival).

Er studierte vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft, romanische Sprachen und Literatur (Französisch, Spanisch) und Kulturwissenschaften an der Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt/Oder.

Er ist Gründungsmitglied verschiedener Vereine und Initiativen einschließlich des DISK – Initiative Bild & Ton e.V., des Projektraums General Public und des internationalen Netzwerks für Musik, Kunst und neue Technologien I.C.A.S. – International Cities of Advanced Sound. Seit 2010 ist er außerdem Projektleiter des Europäischen Kommission im Programm Kultur geförderten 5-Jahre-Projekts “ECAS-Networking Tomorrow’s Art for an Unknown Future”.

Born on 21/11/1970 in Lüdenscheid (North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany), he has lived in Berlin since 1990.
Independent curator, since 2002 organiser / Manager / Artistic Director of the CTM (formerly club transmediale) – festival for adventurous music and art. Co-founder of the cooperative studio facility INN.to and the project space General Public. Founding member of the Vereins DISK – Initiative Bild & Ton e.V. Co-initiator of the I.C.A.S. network – International Cities of Advanced Sound and Related Arts, Director of the EU cultural project E.C.A.S. – Networking Tomorrow’s Art for an Unknown Future (2010-2015). Member of the curators’ network IKT since 2008. Since the middle of 2013 he has been a member of the Council for the Arts Berlin, responsible for the section digital cultures and experimental (pop) music and is also active in the working group for cultural funding. Furthermore, he works for Austrian Radio (ORF) on the programme ICAS-Radio/ Zeit-Ton extended, as well as an independent radio producer for the community radio station reboot.fm with the programme CTM-Radio. From February – September 2015 he was the Acting Managing Director of the Neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst / nGbK e.V.
Baurhenn studied general and comparative literature and Romance philology (French) as well as completing a course of study at the European University Viadrina’s Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences.
